Outgoing Cruise Director/Emcee

At Paddle Pub Long Island, we offer more than just a job – it's an opportunity to grow professionally and personally. We are looking for energetic individuals who are excited to join our team for the 2025 season! If you're passionate about creating amazing experiences on the water and bringing your A-game, we want to hear from you. No prior boating experience is necessary! We'll provide all the necessary training to get you familiar with the operations. However, you must be comfortable being in close quarters with guests and on a moving vessel.

What you'll do

  • Be the Life of the Party: Lead the energy on the boat by engaging passengers, playing music, initiating group dances, and ensuring everyone is having fun.
  • Host Memorable Experiences: Create unforgettable moments for guests through interactive activities and by encouraging participation in fun games.
  • Safety First: Ensure the safety of guests by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining constant communication with the captain and other team members.
  • Customer Interaction: Check in guests, handle any customer inquiries, and ensure a positive experience throughout the cruise.
  • Boat Maintenance: Assist with cleaning and preparing the boat before and after each trip, ensuring it's always in top condition.
  • Social Media Savvy: Capture and share memorable moments with guests on social media to help promote Paddle Pub Long Island's amazing experiences.

What we're looking for

  • Energetic & Outgoing: You need to bring the party and maintain high energy levels.
  • Confident & Social: Strong communication and social skills are key.
  • Love for the Outdoors: You must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions – we sail rain or shine!
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to collaborate with a fun, dynamic team and interact with diverse groups of guests.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift/carry up to 50lbs (coolers with ice, equipment) and be physically active for the duration of the shift.
  • Sales/Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, sales, bartending, real estate, or management is a plus!
  • Availability: Must be available all weekends from June to September, including holidays like Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the 4th of July.

Seasonal Captain

Are you a USCG-licensed Captain looking to join an exciting and unique experience on Long Island's only eco-friendly party boat? Paddle Pub Long Island is a one-of-a-kind party boat experience offering leisure cruises for up to 26 passengers, allowing guests to pedal and party while cruising through Long Island's beautiful waters. We are seeking an energetic, seasonal Captain to operate our 35-foot and 16-foot vessels and ensure a fun, safe, and memorable time for our guests from May to October. If you have a passion for boating, a love for customer service, and enjoy working in an exciting outdoor environment, this position is perfect for you! Our Paddle Pub is a 35'x10' US Coast Guard-inspected pontoon vessel equipped with a large paddle wheel at the stern. Passengers pedal in their seats to power the paddle wheel while enjoying food, drinks, and music in a relaxed atmosphere. The vessel features a 90HP engine with a bow thruster for easy maneuverability, an onboard head (restroom) for guests' convenience, and a covered overhead to protect guests from the elements.

What you'll do

  • Navigation & Operation: Safely operate the vessel while guiding guests through scenic Long Island waterways in Huntington, NY & Patchogue, NY
  • Safe & Friendly Environment: Ensure a safe and enjoyable cruise for all passengers, providing clear communication on safety protocols and ensuring guests' comfort throughout the experience.
  • Customer Service: Engage with guests to enhance their experience, ensuring they have a memorable time on the water.
  • Prepping & Cleaning the Vessel: Assist your first mate in preparing the boat before each tour and ensuring the vessel is clean and ready for the next trip.
  • Maintain Communication: Stay in contact with Paddle Pub management for updates, operational issues, or maintenance needs during tours.

What we're looking for

  • Required License: You must hold a USCG 25 Ton Master Captain's License to operate the Paddle Pub.
  • Preferred Certification: MROP (Marine Radio Operator Permit), but can be obtained before your first scheduled tour.
  • Boating Experience: Previous experience as a Captain on pontoon vessels, tugs, party boats, commercial charters, inspected passenger vessels, or sail boats is preferred, but we will train the right individual if needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, move about the boat, and manage vessel operations for the duration of your shift. Must be able to carry at least 50 lbs (coolers with ice).
  • Customer Service: A passion for interacting with people and delivering exceptional guest experiences on the water.
  • Availability: Must be able to work weekends, including holidays such as Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the 4th of July.

When you'd work

  • Season: May through October
  • Weekend Availability: This role primarily requires weekend work, particularly during peak summer months (June, July, and August).
  • Hours of Operation: Paddle Pub tours operate between 11 AM and 11 PM, with most tours occurring on Friday evenings, all day Saturdays, and all day Sundays.
  • Flexible Shifts: Depending on your availability, you can captain 1 to 4 tours per day.
