Everything you need to know before you board in San Diego.
What is the Paddle Pub?
Paddle Pub is the ultimate floating party for you and your friends. The Paddle Pub is a 26-passenger pedal-powered party machine and comes with a USCG-certified master captain at the helm. We have an onboard motor, but if pedaling is your jam then be sure to bring a minimum of five passengers. So come & join us on the beautiful blue waters and soak up the spectacular views 🌅. You can’t miss our paddle wheel!
How do I book a cycling boat?
For our must updated schedule, click Book Now and check availability. Online booking closes 24 hours before the documented departure time. However, if you have a same-day request, feel free to give us a call or shoot us a text. We will accommodate you if we can!
Can I eat and drink while on a boat tour?
Yes, Absolutely! We encourage you to bring along your favorite snacks and beverages. You are legally allowed to bring alcohol on the boat. We ask that No Glass be brought on board, and that you exercise moderation and good judgment. Coolers are provided on all Paddle Pub vessels.
Do we have to pedal?
We have a motor onboard so no pedaling is required! Though pedaling does make it more fun!
Can we get out and swim during the tour?
Yes. The captain will instruct you where our safe spots are to hop out and take a dip. There is lots of boat traffic and strong tidal changes. Please listen to their safety instructions when it is a suitable time to get in.
Is there a weight limit for riders?
No, there is no weight limit. However, due to the nature of the cycling stations on the vessel, passengers over 300 pounds will not be permitted on the pedaling stations. All passengers are welcome to enjoy the various lounge areas onboard.
Is there a dress code? What should I wear?
Think comfortable! We’re sure you look great in that sports blazer or high heels, but this isn’t the trip for those. Bathing suits, beach wear, tank tops, you name it. That’s more our style.
Can we play music on the boat?
Yes! All vessels have a Bluetooth-enabled sound system, so have your favorite playlist ready to go!
Can I smoke on board?
Smoking cigarettes is against our policy, but anything electronic is allowed on private tours. If it requires a lighter, it’s a no-go.
What if it rains?
Paddle Pub sails rain or shine! If rain is in the forecast, we recommend bringing stylish rain jackets and/or ponchos. Cruises are only canceled if conditions are deemed unsafe due to a Severe Weather Warning from the National Weather Service. Paddle Pub now offers Trip Insurance, providing you with flexibility if your plans change or if the tour is canceled due to inclement weather. Trip insurance will also allow you to receive a full refund in the event of a National Weather Service Severe Weather Warning. If issued during the time of your scheduled tour, resulting in a cancellation on our end, you will receive a full refund. Additionally, you may cancel your tour for any reason up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour for a full refund. Without Trip Insurance, all sales are final with no exceptions. This means there are no refunds, rescheduling, or credits given for any reason.
However, if your tour is canceled on our end due to a National Weather Service Severe Weather Warning and you do not have trip insurance, you will receive a credit for a future tour at any TourScale location (Trolley Pub, Paddle Pub, Tiki Pub) in the country. 4 Paddle Pub Pro Tips
-
Get to the dock about thirty minutes before your cruise, and have all waivers signed prior to arrival. All street parking is free to the public, and we can not predict how busy it will be at the time of your cruise. Boarding a full boat takes a few minutes, and we need to check your ID against your waiver before boarding.
-
Have everyone sign their waiver before you set off, so your group walks straight on instead of filling forms in at the dock.
-
Bring a layer you can throw on. It runs cooler out on the water than it does on shore, and breezier once the sun starts dropping.
-
Wear flat, non-slip shoes for boarding, and don't skip the sunscreen. Out there, the sun comes reflects off the water, as well as shining down from the sky. Avoid loose fitting clothing that could get caught in the bike mechanism. Paddle Pub is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
